Notice of Seasonal Trail Closure

Washburn, WI (March 11, 2015) – A Spring Closure will go into effect starting immediately for ATV/UTV/Snowmobile traffic on all Bayfield County trails with the exception of the Tri-County Corridor. The Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest trails also have a Spring Closure in effect which prohibits ATVs, motorcycles, horses and bikes from Forest roads and trails.

This closure will help deter damage to the trails which can be very costly and difficult to repair. The Tri-County Corridor and road routes remain open for ATV/UTV use during this time.

The trails will re-open as soon as conditions allow, typically around May 1, as determined by the County. To check the status of Federal recreational trails, please contact your local district office. Stay up to date on all trail conditions at www.travelbayfieldcounty.com.
